Hiring & Recruitment: What should you be aware of when advertising roles?

Job applicants have the benefit of laws that prohibit discrimination and employers should take care not to discriminate in matters such as the content of job adverts, how interviews are run, selection of successful candidates and the terms on which roles are offered.

The protected characteristics under UK law for the purposes of protection from discrimination are currently: sex, race, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation, age, marriage and civil partnership status, gender reassignment, and pregnancy and maternity.
